Our First Meeting

The first meeting for the Kitsap Chapter of Quilts for Kids was a success!  We talked about possible organizations to which we may donate our quilts, drop-off points for finished quilts, future meetings, Sew-Ins and more!  For those of you on our volunteer e-mail list, expect a re-cap of the meeting soon!  If you aren't on our volunteer e-mail list and would like to be, shoot us an e-mail at:

KitsapQFK {at} gmail {dot} com.

We would like to say a huge Thank You to the Olalla Grange for hosting our meeting today, to Dawn Setter for helping to cut and package Quilt Kits and for Co-Hosting, and to our volunteers who took time out of their weekend to join us today!

THANK YOU!!
The kids of Kitsap County will receive quilted hugs because of you!

Quilt Stories

The quilts given to kids in tough situations really make a difference, both to the recipient children and to the people supporting them.  To read some of the stories of real children who have been given quilts by Quilts for Kids or our sister organization, Downy's Touch of Comfort, follow the links below.

Mary Bridge Parnership

It's official!  Kitsap Quilts for Kids is partnering with Mary Bridge Children's Hospital!

All our quilts will be donated to children in the inpatient unit or are receiving long-term, on-going treatments such as dialysis, chemotherapy and radiation, extreme physical therapy and more.  There are 40 beds in the inpatient unit alone, so we are in need of quilts for all ages (birth through 21) and genders!

Some of our quilts are also going to a division within Mary Bridge that prepares children for foster care.  This group fills care packages for hospitalized or treated kids about to be placed in foster homes, and our quilts will become part of those packages.

Once a quilt has been given to a child, it becomes theirs for life!  If you want to read how these quilts can affect a child in need or a family in need, visit the Quilts for Kids Official Website's Stories page.  Or our sister group Downy's Touch of Comfort program Every Quilt Has A Story page.

Remember that the children receiving our quilts are facing difficult times, so fill the quilts with love and care!  We're sending our local children quilted hugs!
